Café Masterclass: Theory + Gentle Methods + Sensory Workshop

3 hours of immersion in the world of specialty coffee

This masterclass is for you if you love good coffee.

Whether you are a curious amateur, a passionate enthusiast who wants to better understand what they are drinking, or simply eager to better appreciate your daily cup, this session is designed to gently introduce you to the fascinating world of specialty coffee.

👉 Please note: this masterclass is an introduction. Our professional training program will launch at the beginning of the year.

🟤 Introduction to specialty coffee: choosing your coffee with full knowledge

Together, we will explore the essential basics of coffee to give you the tools to better understand your choices in a coffee shop:

  • What is the difference between specialty coffee and convenience coffee?
  • Where does coffee come from? What are its geographical origins?
  • What varieties of coffee trees exist, and how do they influence the taste?
  • What are the drying processes, and why are they so important?

A practical and accessible introduction that will allow you to read a coffee shop menu differently and make informed choices.

⚙️ Explore gentle methods

Time for some hands-on practice with a workshop exploring different gentle methods of coffee preparation:

  • Discover the main techniques (V60, Chemex, Aeropress, French Press, etc.).
  • Understanding how each method reveals the aromas of the same coffee differently.
  • Taste and compare several cups prepared with different materials.

A fun and sensory experience that will allow you to find the method that suits you best.

👃 Sensory workshop and cupping: awakening your senses

We will continue with a sensory workshop, designed to refine your palate and nose:

  • Discover the main aromas of coffee through an olfactory game.
  • Introduction to the cupping method (professional tasting).
  • Comparative tasting of several Central American coffees, to highlight the differences in terroirs, aromatic profiles and textures.

💡 Find the right equipment for your home

Because good coffee also depends on good tools, we will end this session with some practical advice:

  • What accessories are essential at home?
  • What equipment should you choose based on your habits and budget?
  • How can you recreate at home an experience similar to that of a coffee shop?

You will leave with a clear and concrete vision of the ideal equipment for preparing quality coffee every day.
